What is dermal needling, microneedling, micro channeling, fractional micro dermal needling, Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI) and Collagen Induction Therapy (CTI)? Are you totally and completely unclear and confused? Let me help you understand. No matter what you care to call it, all of the above are non-ablative dermal rejuvenation. All of the above involve creating a mechanical micro injury that supports regulation of cell function in order to optimize skin health.
Simply said, a series of treatment will encourage your skin to heal itself. MD Pen is an electric tool that uses a cluster of very fine, sterile, stainless steel needles that are adjusted to various lengths to create micro injuries in the skin. Micro trauma signals a natural release of growth factors, awakening fibroblasts thus triggering an increase of collagen and elastin in the treated area by up to 200%.
PRP also known as Platelet Rich Plasma (growth factors and cytokines derived from your blood) or anti aging serums containing Hyaluronic Acid or Human Growth factors, when applied topically, will super charge the cell's regenerative abilities, reducing inflammation, healing time, hyperpigmentation and scar tissue formation. Micro channels have been proven to increase absorption of topical serums up to 300%.
Even though we recommend a series of treatments, even one can result in smoother, firmer, better-hydrated, younger looking skin. A series of treatment will lessen fine lines, wrinkles; improve elasticity, skin color, stretch marks and certain types of scar tissue. It can be done any where on the body.
The best thing is, there is no recovery time. Sunscreen and makeup can be applied the next day. Immediately post treatment the skin appears red. When the topical anesthetic wears off you will feel like you have light sunburn. That feeling will last 8-24 hours post treatment depending on your skin type. At day 5 you may experience a dry flakey peeling on the treated area that can be eliminated with a scrub (ZO Exfoliating Polish or ZO Vita Scrub) and/or an enzyme mask (ZO invisapeel) followed by an application of a hydrating moisturizer (Regenica Repair complex).
The treatment can be done every 3-4 weeks

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) has a long history of being used in orthopedic medicine, dentistry and reconstructive surgery. Scientific studies dating back 30 years have documented that PRP grows new collagen when introduced into the skin. Newer studies have shown PRP can improve sun damage and aging skin issues.
Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. Introducing PRP into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin.
